The man, who looked like a manager, straightened his tie and said with a smile, “Sir, you may not know this, but Xiao Yang is just our summer worker. She’s not even a salesperson. Her job is to hand out flyers for our store.”
”Today is the last day of her summer job, and the formalities were completed this morning.”
“It would be too complicated to calculate her performance commission. Also, she won’t be here after work today, so I can’t provide good after-sales service to my husband.”
Every word seems reasonable, but it’s a complete hijacking.
Xu Bin originally didn’t want to meddle in these matters, but seeing the helpless expression on the girl named Xiao Yang’s face, he could only silently acquiesce.
A surge of anger rose within him. He looked disdainfully at the pretentious-looking person in front of him, glanced at the business card, and sneered, “Manager Zhu, is it?”
”Yes!”
Manager Zhu straightened up again and said, “I can introduce you to other products from our flagship store.”
Just then, Yang Siying suddenly made up her mind, gritted her teeth, raised her head and said, “Manager Zhu, I’m not in your team. Even if my project ends today, any sales results will be credited to our team leader.”
“My team leader and I both have performance targets, and she’s off today. Aren’t you being a bit unfair to her?”
Manager Zhu was taken aback at first, then sneered and said, “Yang Siying, I hope you can clear your head. You’re just a summer worker, you have no right to talk to me like that.”
”Besides, your completion application was signed yesterday and approved this morning. Logically speaking, you are no longer our staff and have no right to sell here.”
Yang Siying gritted her teeth and said, “Our team leader said that many people asked for leave today, so he asked me to work an extra day to help you. I didn’t get paid for this day, but you can’t treat me like this.”
Xu Bin found it particularly amusing, thinking that it didn’t actually require a wealthy family.
Xu Bin had seen many conflicts in small units, but he had a very good impression of this young girl named Yang Siying.
The last time Xu Bin came, he was unkempt, wearing cheap, worn-out jeans and a T-shirt with a logo that was clearly given away for free for his part-time job.
The other sales staff glanced at her and went about their own business, ignoring her completely, but this young woman surnamed Yang greeted them warmly.
Although appearances can be deceiving, people still tend to notice a person’s attire in a specialty store like this. This young girl had been working here for a summer job for quite some time and was still so enthusiastic, which made Xu Bin feel particularly comfortable.
”Then you should talk to your team leader; she violated the rules.”
Manager Zhu sneered and said, “Who asked you to work an extra day? Do you know how strict our rules are?”
It was obvious that he wanted to take the sales commission and bonus. Yang Siying was so angry that she trembled all over: “Manager Zhu, you just told me this morning that we were short-staffed today. You thanked me for my help and told me to work until 6 o’clock before leaving.”
”I told you, are you hallucinating?!”
Manager Zhu hummed condescendingly.
Yang Siying was so angry she couldn’t speak. Just then, several salespeople came over, but they were clearly his people.
”Xiao Yang, don’t be stubborn. You’ve already finished the job and left, why are you still arguing about this little bit?”
”That’s right, the performance bonus won’t go to you, and the money isn’t much anyway, so what’s there to think about?”
”You’re just a summer worker, not a permanent employee. Sales isn’t your job, so why are you making such a big deal out of this?”
”Oh my, maybe they just saw this rich and handsome guy and wanted to use it as an excuse to cause trouble.”
Faced with the sarcastic and sarcastic remarks surrounding her, Yang Siying gritted her teeth in anger, tears welling up in her eyes.
Now it’s clear that everyone is attacking her. Yang Siying is obviously lacking in social experience and has been completely bewildered. Judging from her hesitant appearance, she already has the intention to back down.
Manager Zhu laughed smugly and said, “You’re no longer our employee. Please get out.”
After saying that, Manager Zhu said to Xu Bin, “I’m sorry, sir. Please add me on WeChat and remember my phone number. I will definitely give you the best service.”
”But a summer worker causing trouble here is really outrageous. We need some time to deal with it.”
Xu Bin frowned and asked, “Will your supervisor be able to come back?”
”I…I don’t know!!”
”Ask now.”
Yang Siying frantically picked up her phone, and her panic was evident the moment the call connected.
”Hey, Team Leader Zhang, where are you… Could you come over here for a second? I really have something to do.”
After making the call, Yang Siying lowered her head, looking embarrassed and uncomfortable.
Manager Zhu sneered and said, “You don’t know your place. A mere team leader like you thinks you can boss me around.”
”Take off your name tag and get out of here right now.”
When will I get my wages?!
Yang Siying asked through gritted teeth.
”Wages? What wages?”
Manager Zhu chuckled and said, “We never hire temporary workers or summer workers here.”
”You can’t bully people like that!”
Tears were already welling up in Yang Siying’s eyes as she said, “You were the one who said you were hiring summer workers to hand out flyers, but then you said the store was a little short-staffed and asked me to work part-time as a salesperson.”
”Where’s the evidence? What contract did you sign?”
Manager Zhu sneered and said, “You’re not in our store’s employee file. As for the part-time job handing out flyers, you’ve already been paid.”
”The money from flyers is only available for the first few days of the month, but I’ve already worked until the end of this month.”
Yang Siying burst into tears of grievance, saying, “You said temporary workers don’t need contracts, how come you’re going back on your word now?”
”Alright, stop making a fool of yourself here.”
Manager Zhu snorted arrogantly and sneered, “Do you know where we are? If you keep causing trouble here, I’ll have security throw you all out, believe it or not.”
”I understand now. You look respectable, but you’re a penniless wretch. You even try to cut back on the money that female students earn from part-time jobs.”
Xu Bin finally spoke up with a sarcastic remark.
Manager Zhu’s expression immediately changed, and he retorted rudely, “Stop making baseless accusations. You say she works here, so where’s the evidence?”
”Don’t worry, the evidence will come.”
Xu Bin took out his phone and answered, saying, “David, did you hear that? It’s a very boring dispute.”
”I’ll be there in five minutes. I’ve already parked my car.”
The person on the phone spoke in English, with a hint of annoyance. Manager Zhu was momentarily taken aback and instinctively asked, “Who are you calling?”
Xu Bin ignored him, pulled Yang Siying, who was biting her lower lip and secretly crying, aside, and patted her back to comfort her, saying, “Don’t cry, he has to pay you back every penny of your wages today.”
After saying that, Xu Bin raised his head and sneered, “The current official is more powerful than the one in charge. For flagship stores like yours, going through the formal complaint channels is generally too much for most people to handle. But there are always those who can keep a tight rein on you.”
”you……”
Manager Zhu had a vague sense of foreboding.
Just then, a blond, blue-eyed bald man stormed over, dressed impeccably but cursing “FUCK”…
Manager Zhu was completely stunned, and his voice trembled slightly as he said, “David, Mr. David.”
