“Son-in-law, what are you spacing out for? Say something.”
Seeing Xu Bin in a daze, Shen Ruyu frowned and asked.
Xu Bin snapped back to reality. He couldn’t quite figure out what that side mission was all about, but he made a quick decision and said, “Mom, I’ll handle the resignation myself. No matter what, I’ve worked for almost ten days, so I should at least get my wages.”
“Honey, are you still going to work?”
Yao Nan looked reluctant. “Didn’t you say that pile of computers you brought out is worth at least a few hundred thousand?”
“Even the smallest ant is still meat!”
Xu Bin said seriously, “Over four thousand is still money. Mom, Nannan, every drop of it is hard-earned. How we spend it is our family’s business, but when it comes to earning it, we absolutely have to get it back.”
“Son-in-law is right!”
Shen Ruyu smiled approvingly. “Seeing you so sensible makes me so happy. Nannan didn’t choose the wrong person.”
Before, she had said her daughter was blind and foolish, and that Xu Bin’s miserable, poor life was dragging her daughter down…
Recalling his mother-in-law’s past sharpness and harshness, Xu Bin felt his anger rising a bit. Her nature of despising the poor and favoring the rich was still there, and some things couldn’t be glossed over by this current harmony.
After dinner, Shen Ruyu volunteered to wash the dishes, so Xu Bin took his wife’s hand and they went for a walk together.
When they returned at night, she had gone off to play cards again. The young couple exchanged a smile and went upstairs together to take a romantic bath.
“Honey, Mom asked yesterday when we’re going to have a child.”
“She said if there’s a problem, we should get checked early. It seems like there’s been a big argument over at Big Sister’s place.”
Pillow talk between husband and wife always involved a bit of gossip, but it was also accompanied by intimacy. After a round of passion, Yao Nan was so overwhelmed that she fainted, panting heavily with a satisfied smile on her face.
Xu Bin hadn’t ejaculated yet. Adding just one attribute point to his stamina had made him terrifyingly strong. He could have, but it seemed like he could control it.
Life began to settle into a calm and normal routine. At least this live-in son-in-law was no longer looked down upon. To put it bluntly, it was all the magic of money.
The puzzling thing was that during this time, his sister-in-law Yao Xin kept calling her mother, Shen Ruyu. The specifics of their conversations were unclear, but there was some arguing, and it seemed like they ended on bad terms.
Yao Nan tried to probe but got scolded, so Xu Bin didn’t want to stir up trouble either.
The weekend arrived, and the first phase of summer military training ended. Before leaving for work, Yao Nan reminded him, “Honey, pick up Le’er after school.”
Although the family was materially strict and mentally controlling toward her, they knew what society was like.
Yao Le’er had been the school beauty since she first entered, and it was inevitable that a swarm of admirers would buzz around her. Even someone like Zhang Xinda had his eyes on her, which showed just how charming she was.
When he arrived at the school gate, his little sister-in-law came bouncing over, and Xu Bin’s eyes lit up. “Le’er, you can finally rest well at home now.”
“Brother-in-law, I knew it would be you. Mom definitely wouldn’t come.”
Yao Le’er giggled, tossed her small backpack to Xu Bin, and said with a grin, “Brother-in-law, my phone’s fixed, right?”
“All fixed!”
The area in front of No. 1 Middle School was completely jammed at this time. Since it wasn’t a main road, many drivers had no manners at all. It was one thing to ride motorcycles, but parking cars there made the road impassable.
“Yao Le’er, what’s wrong with you? Why aren’t you replying to messages!”
Suddenly, a pretty girl asked, glaring hostilely at Xu Bin, who was carrying the backpack.
Xu Bin was a bit confused. Yao Le’er’s face turned bright red as she snapped, “My phone was being repaired, none of your business.”
“Damn, who’s this guy?”
The pretty girl cursed again.
“None of your business!”
Yao Le’er shot back fiercely, grabbed Xu Bin’s hand, and quickly ran off. They hailed a taxi at the intersection and headed home first.
“Brother-in-law, where’s my phone?”
The first thing Yao Le’er did when she got home was ask, a bit nervously.
“It’s fixed. I put it in your room like you said, locked the door, and left the key in its usual spot.”
Yao Le’er, carrying her backpack, immediately ran to her room and slammed the door shut. Teenage girls really had a ton of quirks.
Xu Bin was still in his room, puzzling over how to start the mission line, when suddenly the door swung open—or rather, it was kicked open.
“Brother-in-law, did you snoop through my messages?”
“No, how could I snoop while fixing the phone?”
“The phone’s memory is really slow. When you open it, there’s a browsing history.”
As Yao Le’er spoke, tears welled up in her eyes. She bit her lower lip, unsure of what to say, then ran back to her room and locked the door as usual.
But just as she sat on the bed, fuming, the lock clicked open with a snap. Xu Bin closed the door behind him and said, “I put the key back for you. Now I’m just taking it back to use for a moment—that’s not too much, right?”
“It’s definitely too much! You’re a pervert! Why did you look at my stuff after fixing the phone?”
Yao Le’er was furious. She got up and tried to push Xu Bin, who had suddenly entered, out of the room.
Xu Bin didn’t mind. He slammed the door shut.
The sharp snap was especially crisp, instantly creating a private world for just the two of them. Yao Le’er tensed up and said through gritted teeth, “Brother-in-law, don’t try anything funny. I thought you were kind, so I asked for your help. Don’t think you can threaten me with this.”
Xu Bin chuckled, sat down by the door, thought for a moment, and lit a cigarette.
The smell of smoke was the most hated thing in this household. Only Yao Nan allowed Xu Bin to smoke in their room; otherwise, even the living room was off-limits.
Xu Bin blew a smoke ring and said with a grin, “Le’er, you’re angry enough. You searched your room when you came in, but not thoroughly. If you’re worried your brother-in-law messed with your panties, then search properly.”
“Brother-in-law, I didn’t mean that…”
Ignoring whatever she was thinking, Xu Bin went back to the opposite room and lay down, his mind filled with thoughts of his little sister-in-law with her youthful face and ample bosom. His head was a mess, and he couldn’t figure out how to start this mission line.
“Ding… Mission line not yet activated.”
“Ding… Side mission generating.”
Xu Bin was extremely frustrated when suddenly the door was pushed open. Yao Le’er poked her head in and said cautiously, “Brother-in-law, can I come in?”
“Whatever!”
Xu Bin wasn’t just a little frustrated—he had already come to terms with a certain fact.
The missions weren’t something he could control. His mother-in-law had triggered one just by grabbing a pair of panties, and here with his sister-in-law, things were already twisted enough, yet it still hadn’t activated. Damn it!
Yao Le’er closed the door and stood there uneasily. After a long moment, she gritted her teeth and said, “Brother-in-law, um, what did you see?”
“Everything!”
Seeing her pitiful look, Xu Bin felt a surge of wicked thoughts.
“What exactly did you see? Tell me!”
His little sister-in-law was frantic, her face flushed red, on the verge of tears.
“That thing with your eldest brother-in-law… I don’t believe it was an accident.”
The room was small. Xu Bin sat up, lit a cigarette, and said sarcastically, “With your eldest sister’s height and yours, you’d have to be blind to mistake you two. Your butts aren’t even at the same level.”
Yao Le’er’s pretty face turned bright red. A bit angrily, she said, “I think so too. He was deliberately taking advantage of me.”
Xu Bin smoked in silence. Yao Le’er pressed anxiously, “Brother-in-law, what else did you see?”
“I told you, I saw everything!”
Xu Bin looked at her meaningfully and said, “Le’er, to put it in an old-fashioned way, as your brother-in-law, I should be lecturing you. But I know I don’t have the right to preach.”
“I… I didn’t agree to Ajiao!”
Yao Le’er panicked, blurting out a confession without being asked, then lowered her head guiltily.
But after thinking it over, she got especially angry. Tears of grievance welled up in her eyes as she said, “Brother-in-law, how could you do this? I trusted you, so I asked for your help. How could you invade my privacy?”
That was quite the highbrow term. Xu Bin couldn’t help but laugh at her childish face and said, “Le’er, I admit I was wrong about this. I won’t make excuses. But I have a suggestion—see if it helps you calm down.”
Yao Le’er stubbornly wiped away the few tears in her eyes, sniffled, and asked, “What suggestion?”
Xu Bin said with a sly grin, “Everyone has their own secrets, and they can also share secrets. I promise I won’t tell anyone what I saw. This will be a little secret between the two of us.”
“You… you can’t tell anyone, especially my mom…”
Yao Le’er was so angry she rolled her eyes, but she didn’t know what to do because this was too embarrassing to bring up.
Xu Bin could tell she was genuinely furious. He smiled and teased her, “Our Le’er is just so pretty, even when she’s angry.”
“Who asked you to compliment me? You pervert, stinking pervert, peeping Tom.”
Yao Le’er snatched the room key from the table. The more she thought about it, the more wronged and angry she felt. She burst into tears, wiped her eyes, and ran back to her room.
The door slammed shut again with a loud bang. Luckily, no one was home, or it would’ve been hard to explain.
Back in her room, the more she thought, the more wronged she felt. Yao Le’er lay on the bed crying, grabbed her pillow, and pounded it in frustration, sobbing as she cursed, “Eldest brother-in-law is a lecher, second brother-in-law looks honest but is a pervert, a big pervert, a stinking pervert…”
“Why did you snoop through my phone…”
She was crying like a pitiful little kitten when suddenly a text message tone rang. Yao Le’er wiped her tears, picked up the phone, and froze.
“Le’er, actually, your brother-in-law is even more perverted than you think. Guess what extra thing is in your room now?”
“Stinking pervert, don’t tell me…”
She recalled stories she’d heard about men with fetishes. Back when they lived in the old flat, underwear and stockings hung out to dry would sometimes go missing. Rumor had it that perverted men took them to masturbate and would leave their filth on them.
Yao Le’er hurriedly dried her tears, opened the wardrobe, and pulled out the small drawer where she kept her panties. Inside the drawer was an extra piece of paper.
She picked it up and saw it was a shopping receipt from a mall, dated that morning. The purchase was for the latest top-of-the-line iPhone 14, costing over ten thousand.
Yao Le’er stared at the receipt, stunned, unsure what Xu Bin meant by this.
Another message tone rang: “Your perverted brother-in-law peeked at your panties. Is Le’er even angrier now?”
“Stinking pervert!”
Yao Le’er stopped crying, but she didn’t reply.
The little loli sat on the bed, holding the receipt and spacing out. Of course, she knew about this latest kidney phone. Everyone had a phone these days, mostly hand-me-downs from parents worth about a thousand yuan.
An iPhone costing several thousand was already considered top-tier, but this model costing over ten thousand—she hadn’t seen anyone at school with one yet. Everyone would be buzzing about it.
“Little darling… the stinking pervert wants to have another secret with little darling!”
Another message came through. Yao Le’er stared at her phone, hesitating, biting her lower lip, her face flushed.
She knew her brother-in-law had seen the messages Ajiao sent, and the key point was that she had responded. This was not only utterly humiliating, but in her brother-in-law’s eyes, had she turned into a little slut?
No, more like a call girl. Her image as a good girl was probably shattered.
What did her brother-in-law mean by this? Was he trying to strike a deal with her?
At this thought, Yao Le’er gritted her teeth in anger, but then, thinking of those messages, she immediately lost her nerve. Her childish mind was now completely at a loss.
Compared to her tangled thoughts, Xu Bin didn’t have nearly as many messy ideas. When there was no reply to his message, he simply tossed the phone aside.
His little sister-in-law was at the age of peak vanity, and schools these days were so shallow, full of comparison and competition. Xu Bin didn’t believe she could stay calm holding that receipt.
At dinner, Yao Le’er acted as if nothing had happened, as if nothing had occurred at all.
While eating, Xu Bin deliberately said, “Mom, my business partner said he’d give me a phone in the next couple of days. I think Little Sister’s phone is too outdated—it’d be perfect for her.”
“What kind of phone? Is it expensive?”
Shen Ruyu asked instinctively.
“Not expensive. It’s suitable for kids, not for someone as mature and steady as you, Mom.”
“Oh, alright then.”
Shen Ruyu looked at Yao Le’er, who had been eating with her head down, frowned, and said, “What’s wrong with you, you little brat? Your brother-in-law is giving you something, and you don’t even say thank you.”
“Exactly, how can you be so rude?”
Yao Nan joined in the scolding.
Yao Le’er’s heart raced at the thought of that receipt. She looked up, her pretty eyes fixed on Xu Bin, only to meet his meaningful smile. Her heart immediately started pounding uncontrollably.
At that moment, Xu Bin was like a demon tempting her, waiting for her to decide whether to sell her soul—no, her body.
