“Novels are all lies!”
Song Ning couldn’t help but smile bitterly. In the novels he had read before, the male protagonists would wake up either being attacked by a nymphomaniac or being given oral sex by a soft girl. None of them were as aching all over and in excruciating pain as he was.
Fortunately, Zhao Yi and Jing Hui woke up at the same time before Song Ning couldn’t hold back anymore.
“Husband~~ (Brother~~)”
Their voices were so languid, as if their lips were unwilling to open, suggesting they had just emerged from a sweet dream and weren’t truly awake.
Without further hesitation, Song Ning twisted her body and wriggled upwards, gradually breaking free from their entanglement.
Zhao Yi went to bed early last night. When she realized that the person in her arms was not there, she reached out to look for her and mistook Jing Hui for Song Ning. She shifted her body and hugged the girl tightly before falling asleep again.
“call–”
Song Ning breathed a sigh of relief, glad that he had extricated himself decisively and swiftly. Without further hesitation, he quickly took a shower in the bathroom, put on his clothes, and went out.
While in the elevator, Song Ning looked at the first floor button she had pressed and the second basement floor button that someone else had pressed, and wondered if she should buy a car too.
The location Qi Ya sent him wasn’t far from Hongji Building, but it was closer to the center of Beijing. Song Ning planned to ride a shared bike there, which would be quick, convenient, and avoid traffic jams. If he took a taxi, he would probably be late.
As Song Ning walked out of the Hongji Building, he noticed three or five people standing together staring at him without any attempt to hide it. When Song Ning noticed them, one of them, a bald man who looked like he was up to no good, glared back at Song Ning fiercely.
In broad daylight, he wasn’t afraid of what they could do, but Song Ning was in a hurry to see Qi Ya, so he pretended not to see them and left quickly.
I found a shared bike and was about to ride off when I heard a girl’s terrified voice behind me:
“You! What are you doing! Let me go!”
Song Ning turned around and saw the same group of strange people surrounding a girl, pulling and tugging at her. The girl’s mask was forcibly ripped off, revealing a delicate face.
The group exchanged glances, and one of them nodded. Without saying a word, they began to pull at the terrified girl. There was a van nearby, and their intentions were obvious.
Upon seeing this, Song Ning hurriedly covered her face with her mask, then got on the shared bicycle and pedaled hard.
The girl was so frightened she almost lost her mind; she forgot to even scream for help, and could only plead in a tearful voice:
“You’ve got the wrong person!”
“I didn’t cheat you out of your money…”
“No! Help me…”
Helplessly, she looked at the devil’s hand that was pulling at her wrist. No matter how hard she struggled, she couldn’t break free. It was the hand of a bald man who looked exactly like the villain in the movies. The girl glanced at him and then lowered her head, not daring to look again. Little did she know that this only emboldened the group of people.
Just as the girl had one foot on the van’s footrest and was desperately kicking her leg in a final act of resistance, the villain’s hand suddenly changed direction, pulling her body violently to one side.
The girl was also freed from the restraints, and the claw that was holding her wrist loosened its grip. She hurriedly shook her arm and regained her freedom.
The bald man lost his balance and fell to the ground. He quickly raised his head and looked in the direction he was hit. A shared bicycle had already rushed more than ten meters away, and it was the culprit that had hit him.
“Damn it! You dare hit me! Chase after me! Let’s see how far your beat-up bicycle can go!”
The group of people who were stunned for a moment came to their senses when they heard the bald man’s angry roar, and they took off after him.
The person riding the shared bicycle stood on the pedals, and the bicycle swayed violently from side to side as he pedaled with all his might. In the short time it took to speak, he was already dozens of meters away.
Although the people there were fierce, their physical strength was really lacking. They were about to give up when they couldn’t keep up with the bicycle.
The bald man, who had just gotten up, thought the meddlesome person was out of energy, so he swung his arms and chased after him himself, not forgetting to call out to his brothers:
“Follow me! He can’t run anymore, kill this bastard!”
The bald man, who was imagining how he would vent his anger after catching this person, was stunned to see the cyclist turn around and rush towards him at an even faster speed than before.
The pursuers had no time to stop; the bicycle crashed into them like a tank.
“ah!”
“Hold!”
“Damn it!”
Although it didn’t have the effect of a tank crushing infantry into mincemeat, these men were still knocked over and lay sprawled on the ground, groaning in pain.
The whole process is a long story, but it actually happened in the blink of an eye. The girl hadn’t even thought about running away when the bicycle that saved her was already rushing up behind her.
The girl felt a strong arm around her waist, and her center of gravity shifted backward, causing her to sit on a cold, hard beam.
“Whoosh—whoosh—”
Hearing heavy breathing beside her, and seeing buildings and roads rushing past her eyes, she realized that she was sitting on the crossbar of a shared bicycle, being carried away in the arms of the man who had saved her.
