“Mr. Xia, the next class starts in ten minutes,” Kimura Momo said with a smile, sitting upright in her office chair.
“Yes, soon.” Shirakawa Natsu stood beside her, holding one of her hands, her face directly in front of her.
The advantage of being stunningly beautiful is that you can enjoy it just by looking at your face.
The two came out of the office, and Kimura Momo carefully wiped her face clean with a handkerchief.
“Mr. Xia, is there something strange about me?” Kimura Momo asked curiously, putting away her handkerchief.
“No.” Shirakawa Natsumi shook her head, but couldn’t help asking, “Why didn’t you refuse my request?”
“You can interpret that as a request, that’s fine too.” Kimura Momo smiled. “When I observe humans, I can’t control the behavior of those I observe. On the contrary, I’m very curious about what kind of requests you can make.”
Shirakawa Natsumi scratched her head, understanding her logic. It was like how researchers would find it interesting no matter what a lab rat did; perhaps they preferred to see a maverick lab rat.
Although I understand, I still find it quite hurtful.
As the two walked around a corner, the surrounding students all turned to look at them, secretly watching Kimura Momo.
Shirakawa Natsu knew that this kind of sorcery that interfered with the five senses of ordinary people had disappeared.
A head popped out of the classroom door; it was Nao Jingu. After seeing Natsu Shirakawa approach, she slipped back into the classroom.
“Oh no.” Shirakawa Natsu then remembered that he had chased after Jingu Nao. The anger he had felt about having his notebook torn up had all rushed into Kimura Momo’s body and face, and his anger had subsided.
After gesturing to Kimura Momo, she quickly returned to the classroom.
Jingu Nao sat in the back row, turning her head away and deliberately avoiding looking at him.
Shirakawa Natsumi sat down next to her: “Are you still angry?”
“Don’t worry about me.” Jingu Nao turned her head away: “You have Moso-sensei, that’s enough.”
“Oh ho~” Shirakawa Natsu smiled: “So you’re jealous? No way, no way. But if it’s about love, I’d choose Nao.”
After saying that, Shirakawa Natsu felt like a scumbag, having just used the other person’s stunning good looks to finish his business.
“Hmm~” Jingu Nao turned her head, looked him over for a while, and suddenly opened her mouth, revealing her usual lively smile: “Hehe, it seems you weren’t lying.”
After she finished speaking, she smiled and took a notebook from the table, handing it over.
Shirakawa Natsumi was taken aback: “It was my notebook. So you didn’t tear it? Was that a magic trick?”
“I’m really amazing,” Jingu Nao said, puffing out her chest.
“Great.” Shirakawa Natsu was very happy to have it back.
In the next class, Jingu Nao regained her energy and started chattering away with him.
Looking at the silly-smiling girl, Shirakawa Natsu felt a strange sense of shame rising in her heart.
I said such offensive things just now, and I was forgiven so easily.
“Do you have time tonight? I’ll treat you to dinner.” Shirakawa Natsumi scratched his head, feeling guilty towards this kind girl in many ways.
“There’s a place I really want to go to.” Jingu Nao pressed a finger to her lips: “I want to see Tokyo Tower with someone I like. Natsu, can you take me?”
At that moment, her eyes seemed to be sparkling.
“Okay, let’s go together tonight.” Shirakawa Natsumi immediately agreed.
“Then I need to go back and change my clothes. Xia, wait for me!” Jingu Nao said with a grin.
“Actually, it doesn’t have to be this complicated.” Shirakawa Natsu shrugged.
“No way, is Natsu an idiot?” Jingu Nao pouted.
“I know, no matter what happens, I’ll always be there waiting for you.” Shirakawa Natsu extended her finger and made a pinky promise with her.
The afternoon classes ended quickly.
The two agreed on a time and parted ways at the school gate. Shirakawa Natsu checked her watch; there were still three hours until the agreed-upon eight o’clock.
“Let’s go home first.” Shirakawa Natsu took out her phone, opened the Yellow Hair App, and saw that Kimura Momo’s favorability rating had changed from 40 to 41.
It was added after the two had an in-depth conversation in the classroom.
Even though you say you’re speaking from an observer’s perspective, making people feel comfortable will still increase their favorability.
So what am I to her?
Different species of pets that can make you feel comfortable?
Shirakawa Natsu banished these strange thoughts from her mind, too afraid to think about them any further—they were too bizarre.
He heard the sound of brakes and looked up to see a black sedan stopped in front of him.
The car door opened, and a mature woman in an office lady uniform stepped out.
“Mr. Xia, hello.” The woman in the office lady uniform bowed deeply to him: “Our young lady would like to meet you.”
Shirakawa Natsu frowned, searching her memories to confirm that the only childhood friend she had was Miyuki, and there was no wealthy heiress among them.
I didn’t have a particularly good relationship with any boy when I was a child.
Or perhaps you unintentionally saved a little girl who was being bullied.
“I’m sorry, I don’t know your young lady.” Shirakawa Natsu waved her hand. “Besides, I have something to do later. I’ll definitely come to keep the appointment next time.”
“Our young lady is a fan of yours.” The woman in the OL uniform smiled professionally. “She admires your talent. Please be sure to grant her request this time, otherwise I won’t be able to explain it to her.”
“My fans?” Shirakawa Natsu was taken aback. Weren’t his fans mostly haters? This invitation probably wasn’t that simple.
Perhaps because they had missed so many updates, they came knocking on my door.
“We are very sincere.” The woman in the OL uniform took out a thick envelope from her pocket and stuffed it into Shirakawa Natsu’s arms.
“I’m sorry, I can’t accept it.” Shirakawa Natsu quickly declined. He had made an appointment with Jingu Nao, and he wasn’t short of money.
“Mr. Xia, if I cannot complete the task assigned to me by Miss, I will have no choice but to commit suicide to atone for my sins.” The office lady bowed at a ninety-degree angle: “Please, Mr. Xia, do not refuse.”
“Are you serious?” Shirakawa Natsumi’s lips moved slightly.
“Yes.” After saying that, the office lady pulled a women’s pistol out of her bag and pointed it at her temple.
Shirakawa Natsumi didn’t want to hear him say he wouldn’t go; she thought this woman would commit suicide.
But without a doubt, the other side was showing off its military might and didn’t want things to escalate too much.
He could choose to turn and run, but there are still people in the other car, and they have guns.
The possibility of escape is infinitesimally close to zero.
“Okay.” Shirakawa Natsu suddenly smiled and said, “If I agree now, can I still receive the wedding gift?”
The office lady was taken aback for a moment, then smiled and said, “Of course.”
She reached out and handed over the envelope.
Shirakawa Natsu took the envelope with one hand and used it as a shield, then dialed a fast number on her phone.
It was Hojo Maki’s number. After seeing her today, Uesugi Shikato’s inexplicable death made him uneasy. Before finding out the truth, Shirakawa Natsu set her number to speed dial as a precaution.
“Please come with me.” The office lady gestured for him to come in and opened the car door for him.
Two men in black sat in the back seat. Although they tried their best to put on friendly smiles, their underworld aura was impossible to hide.
Shirakawa Natsumi pouted. Just as he had thought, if he had refused to get in the car, these two men in black would have gotten out without hesitation and forcibly taken him away.
“Where is our destination?” Shirakawa Natsumi hid her phone in her pocket and quickly tried to get information out of the caller after the call was connected.
Meanwhile, in a suburban area of Tokyo, there is a group of traditional Japanese buildings.
Even in the suburbs, owning such a large area of land proves that the person has a distinguished background.
Inagawa Hanahi, dressed in a proper kimono that concealed her back tattoo, sat upright on the tatami mat, brewing tea with a focused expression and fluid movements, demonstrating her impressive tea ceremony skills.
“Miss, our people have already picked up Shirakawa Natsumi.” The middle-aged man put down the phone and bowed to her.
“Understood, bring it over as planned.” Inagawa Hanahi’s expression remained unchanged as she held the teacup in both hands and took a small sip, exuding both tranquility and elegance.
“But how do we explain this to the Bamboo Union?” the middle-aged man asked with wrinkles. “Their people also made their move today.”
“Who do you think will win, that rat in the ditch or my fiancé?” Inagawa Hanahi asked with her eyes closed.
“Well,” the middle-aged man shook his head, “if the opponent really is that woman, it’s not certain. Miss, you mean that the agent will win, so we should protect her boyfriend in advance, doing him a favor?”
Inagawa Hanahi opened her eyes and gave her a look as if she were an idiot.
The middle-aged man pursed his lips. He had only made a guess on purpose, and then the young lady would explain her reasons with a cold expression. Sometimes he wondered if the young lady was secretly reading some strange online novels.
“It doesn’t matter who wins.” Inagawa Hanahi put down the teapot. “If that rat wins, we, the Inagawa Society, will be her partners in protecting her boyfriend. If my fiancé wins, we will be his staunch allies in helping him catch the perpetrator’s accomplice.”
