My Sister Is Acting Strange.

Chapter 9: You Smell Like Another Woman

Xia Xinya was carried out of the school gate by Tang Huaijin. The security guard at the gate only glanced at the two of them with surprise, but did not say anything.

“My car is over there,” Xia Xinya said angrily, pointing to a black Bentley parked on the road.

If she hadn’t told Aunt Song in advance that she would be late getting out of school, Aunt Song would probably have gone looking for her already, and she wouldn’t have suffered such a loss, she thought angrily.

A woman with short hair got out of the car. She looked very capable in a black suit and quickly walked up to them, looking at the two of them with extreme surprise.

”Miss, what is this?”

When Xia Xinya saw her family, her expression immediately became smug. She struggled on Tang Huaijin’s back, saying, “Put me down quickly.”

After getting off Tang Huaijin, Xia Xinya ran to the woman’s side, hugged her waist, and complained to her with a pitiful expression, “Aunt Song…”

”What’s wrong with you, Miss?” Aunt Song looked at her with a mixture of amusement and exasperation.

Tang Huaijin was naturally not afraid of her complaining, and gave Xia Xinya a dangerous smile.

Startled, Xia Xinya froze for a moment, hesitated, and stammered, “I… I fell.”

”Oh, how careless of you.” Aunt Song didn’t think too much about it, and gently patted her head with concern. Then she turned to look at Tang Huaijin and said, “Thank you for bringing our young lady here. What’s your name, classmate?”

”Hello, Auntie, my name is Tang Huaijin.” Tang Huaijin smiled politely, looking quite shy.

Xia Xinya hid behind Aunt Song, only revealing her round eyes, which were filled with anger as she stared at him.

”Hello.” Tang Huaijin had a dignified appearance and polite manners, which easily won people’s favor. Aunt Song’s smile brightened a bit. “Let me take you home.”

Xia Xinya expressed her disapproval and angrily asked, “Why should I?”

”Miss, they kindly helped you, what’s wrong with giving them a ride?” Aunt Song glanced at Xia Xinya helplessly, then said to Tang Huaijin, “Get in the car, Auntie will take you home.”

Aunt Song has been the Xia family’s nanny for over ten years. Even Xia Xinya’s mother respects her and calls her Sister Song. Xia Xinya doesn’t dare to be disrespectful to her.

”Okay, thank you, Aunt Song. My home isn’t far away.” Tang Huaijin agreed, giving Xia Xinya a smug look, which made Xia Xinya grit her teeth in anger.

The two sat together in the back seat. Xia Xinya placed her small bag in the middle of the seat, as if afraid that Tang Huaijin would come over. Aunt Song, who was driving, asked, “I’ve never seen you before, Xiao Tang.”

”Ah, I just transferred here. I left school a little late, and I saw Xia Xinya fall down there as soon as I came down the stairs,” Tang Huaijin said with a smile. He then glanced at Xia Xinya sitting next to him and teased, “She looks like she fell pretty hard. She’s crying nonstop, so I just helped her out.”

Xia Xinya snorted coldly at Tang Huaijin and mouthed, “Shameless.”

Seeing Tang Huaijin talking to Aunt Song without even glancing at her, Xia Xinya’s eyes darted around. She turned to the side in her seat and quietly stretched her leg out from under the seat.

The Bentley had a lot of space inside, and Xia Xinya took advantage of her long legs, stepping on Tang Huaijin’s calf with one foot before quickly pulling it back.

Tang Huaijin’s expression remained unchanged, as if he hadn’t noticed anything, and he continued chatting and laughing with Aunt Song.

Seeing this, Xia Xinya became bolder and secretly stretched out her leg to kick a few more times.

Seeing that Tang Huaijin still didn’t react, Xia Xinya was secretly pleased with herself, thinking that Tang Huaijin was afraid of making a commotion in the car and was begging for forgiveness and giving in.

Xia Xinya’s face was full of smugness, feeling that she had finally gotten the upper hand. She stretched out her leg, ready to use the same trick again.

Tang Huaijin remained motionless on his upper body, even chatting with Aunt Song, but his left hand, which was hanging by his side, quickly grabbed Xia Xinya’s ankle.

Xia Xinya’s ankles were very slender, and Tang Huaijin could easily wrap his arm around them.

When her ankle was grabbed, Xia Xinya’s body instantly stiffened, her long, slender legs straightening.

Because they were in the car, Xia Xinya didn’t dare to use too much force. After struggling a few times, she glared at Tang Huaijin with shame and indignation, silently cursing, “Let go, you filthy scoundrel.”

Tang Huaijin ignored her, gently stroking the object in her hand, and continued chatting with Aunt Song naturally.

After struggling for a long time to no avail, Xia Xinya seemed to give up and became still.

Tang Huaijin was somewhat surprised by Xia Xinya’s reckless attitude. Seeing that the car was almost home, he loosened his grip and prepared to let go of her.

He didn’t want to provoke Xia Xinya or cause too much of a commotion.

He had just let go when Xia Xinya suddenly snapped back, pulling her leg back with a whoosh. But Tang Huaijin had already released his grip, causing Xia Xinya to lose her balance instantly, fall backward, and crash into the car door with a thud.

Tang Huaijin was stunned by Xia Xinya’s actions and couldn’t help but laugh out loud.

Aunt Song seemed to have just noticed the commotion in the back seat and asked in confusion, “What’s wrong?”

”N-nothing, I just bumped my head.” Xia Xinya covered her head, almost crying from the pain.

Unable to tell the truth, Xia Xinya was truly suffering in silence, unable to express her bitterness.

She felt so wronged; she had suffered more setbacks all year than she had today.

”It’s all that damned Tang Huaijin’s fault,” Xia Xinya cursed inwardly, glaring at the seemingly innocent-looking boy.

”Oh, this road is indeed a bit bumpy.” Aunt Song’s expression remained unchanged as she smiled and said to Tang Huaijin, “We’re here, isn’t this the place?”

”Thank you, Auntie. I’ll be going now.” Aunt Song’s tone was still as gentle as ever, but Tang Huaijin felt a little guilty for no reason. After thanking her, he got out of the car.

After putting Tang Huaijin down, the Bentley started up again. Only when Tang Huaijin was out of sight did Xia Xinya snort and look away.

Aunt Song glanced up at the rearview mirror above her head, pursed her lips slightly, and said nothing.

…

When Tang Huaijin returned home, his sister was watching TV on the sofa.

Upon seeing her younger brother return home, Tang Yaoyao quickly walked over, took the bag from his hand, and said with a smile, “Ah Jin, you’ve worked hard.”

”Um.”

Tang Huaijin smiled with some satisfaction. A lot had happened today. It was better to go home. Her sister was the best.

After changing into slippers, Tang Huaijin sat down on the sofa and asked, “Was my sister late today?”

Upon hearing this, Tang Yaoyao pouted and complained, “It’s all your fault for waking me up so late, which caused me to get scolded by my supervisor.”

Tang Huaijin asked, puzzled, “How can you blame me? Didn’t you set your own alarm?”

”I…I overslept.” Tang Yaoyao stammered, as if she had thought of something.

Tang Huaijin rolled her eyes and didn’t say anything.

Tang Yaoyao suddenly leaned over and sniffed Tang Huaijin, a hint of suspicion flashing in her clear eyes.

”How’s the new school, Ah Jin?”

”It’s pretty good. After all, it’s a school for rich people, so the facilities are excellent.”

”Oh…” Then, Tang Yaoyao asked, “How is your classmate?”

”It’s great.” Tang Huaijin couldn’t help but chuckle as he thought of Xia Xinya.

Seeing the smile on Tang Huaijin’s face, Tang Yaoyao felt a pang of sadness and asked, “Is your deskmate a girl?”

”I don’t have a deskmate…” Tang Huaijin felt a little strange.

”Really? Then why don’t you look into my eyes?” Tang Yaoyao said, dissatisfied.

”It’s true.” Tang Huaijin looked into her sister’s eyes and said helplessly.

Tang Yaoyao looked into her younger brother’s eyes, then sniffed Tang Huaijin, her lips pouting as she questioned, “Then why do you smell like a girl?”

”Is there?” Tang Huaijin pulled up his collar and sniffed, but couldn’t smell anything.

”Yes! It smells like green apples, it’s awful.” Tang Yaoyao frowned and grabbed Tang Huaijin’s arm, pressing him for an answer. “Are you going to tell me or not? Are you going to tell me or not?”

“Okay, okay, one of my classmates was injured, and I carried her to her parents’ place.” Tang Huaijin looked into her sister’s eyes and said softly.

Hearing him say that, Tang Yaoyao’s expression softened, but she still pouted her cherry-red lips and muttered, “Why should I make you carry me? Didn’t you just transfer here? Where are the other boys in your class? Are they deliberately bullying me?”

”Alright, this is getting more and more outrageous. Do you think I can just pretend I didn’t see it?” Tang Huaijin said with a look of exasperation.

”You’re the kindest one,” Tang Yaoyao scoffed, her tone laced with sarcasm.

Seeing that her sister was still relentless, Tang Huaijin teased, “Why is my sister acting like a housekeeper? Are you jealous?”

”Who’s jealous?” A blush spread across Tang Yaoyao’s face as she tried to remain calm and said, “I’m afraid you’ll be taken advantage of by those bad women outside.”

”Alright, alright…” Tang Huaijin looked at her sister with a meaningful gaze. “Then… I’ll wait for you, sister.”

Tang Yaoyao didn’t dare to look into her younger brother’s eyes. She shifted uncomfortably, her body pounding like a little rabbit in her arms, and her voice trembled slightly.

”Wait…wait for me for what…”

”I’m waiting for you to introduce me to a nice girl,” Tang Huaijin chuckled, then looked away.

Tang Yaoyao seemed to breathe a sigh of relief, her expression relaxed, and she said with a smile, “That depends on my mood. Let me tell you, all of my best friends are great beauties.”

Tang Huaijin glanced at her casually and said dismissively, “Oh.”

Tang Yaoyao looked at you with a pity and snorted, “Hmph, I was originally going to show you the photos, but never mind now.”

”oh.”

”What do you mean, ‘oh’?”

”oh”

I’m not cooking tonight!

”It was originally my job…”

”Then…then I won’t eat it!”

”Hahaha……”

…

After dinner, Tang Yaoyao went back to her room and started writing in her diary.

September 8th, Monday, sunny.

Ah Jin, that idiot, made me angry again today, so I’ve decided not to eat dinner.

At first I didn’t want to eat it, but seeing that my brother’s apology seemed sincere, I reluctantly ate a few bites.

Mmm… the minced meat and eggplant smells so good. Ah Jin’s cooking skills are getting better and better.

Ah Jin is handsome, a good cook, and has excellent grades.

I wonder which woman will benefit from this…

That bastard has always been a womanizer, and today, the first day of school, he already smells like a fox.

I need to keep him under control.

I want him to stay by my side for at least a few more years…

Ah Jin has been testing me lately, which makes me a little worried.

He hasn’t discovered anything, has he…?

It’s so annoying. I shouldn’t have said I’d introduce him to someone.

I don’t want to think about it anymore. I need to go to bed early tonight. I was late today and got a really bad scolding from my supervisor. He’s obviously going through menopause.

It’s all Ah Jin’s fault, she even bothers her sister in her dreams…

As she wrote this, Tang Yaoyao seemed to remember something, a blush spreading across her face. She stopped writing, carefully tucked the diary into the small cabinet, and locked it away.

There was no sound from the living room. Ah Jin must have gone back to her room to sleep. Tang Yaoyao got up from her desk, opened the door, and saw that the siblings’ bedrooms faced each other.

Looking at Tang Huaijin’s tightly closed door, Tang Yaoyao revealed a sweet smile.

Goodnight, Ah Jin.
