My Sister Is Acting Strange.

Chapter 7 Xia Xinya

Outside the classroom corridor.

Xia Xinya stood with her arms crossed, leaning against the wall of the classroom corridor, looking at Tang Huaijin with a rather indifferent expression.

It wasn’t cold inside the teaching building. Xia Xinya took off her trench coat, revealing only a thin wool women’s short jacket over her shirt, and a black short skirt with some tassel decorations. She had a slender figure, and her delicate waist exuded the unique charm of a young girl, like a green apple.

Atop her long, fair neck was a classic oval face, her skin white and delicate, seemingly glowing with a soft light, like an elegant and exquisite piece of porcelain.

”Have you looked enough?” Xia Xinya asked coldly, noticing Tang Huaijin’s scrutinizing gaze.

”I’m sorry.” Although Tang Huaijin said sorry, there was no trace of remorse in his tone. He chuckled lightly, “Is there something you need?”

”Stay away from Bai Yuerou.” Xia Xinya’s tone became even more unfriendly when Bai Yuerou was mentioned.

”What’s the reason?”

”Reason?” Xia Xinya scoffed dismissively. “Isn’t the reason that you’re a pervert enough?”

”Have we met before?” Tang Huaijin frowned, sizing up the girl in front of him.

The curve of that chin…

That mouth looks kind of familiar…

Tang Huaijin suddenly realized, looking at Xia Xinya with surprise, “You’re the one who bought lilies at the bookstore…”

His voice was a bit loud, and Xia Xinya realized what he was about to say. She lunged forward, covered Tang Huaijin’s mouth with her hand, looked at Tang Huaijin fiercely, and threatened in a low voice, “If you dare to say it, you’re dead.”

There were still quite a few people in the hallway during the break, and they all looked over with gossipy expressions when they heard the noise.

Tang Huaijin pulled the girl’s hand away, looking disgusted. “Ptooey, ptooey, why are you putting your hand in someone’s mouth?”

”You! I find your saliva disgusting!” Xia Xinya was furious. The wet feeling on her palms made her very uncomfortable, so she reached out and wiped it on Tang Huaijin’s body.

Tang Huaijin easily dodged, then stretched out his arm to block in front of his chest. “Stop, I’m warning you, don’t come any closer.”

Xia Xinya stopped in her tracks, took out a tissue from her pocket to wipe her hands, and sneered, “You’d better keep your mouth shut and stay away from Bai Yuerou, or I’ll say I didn’t warn you.”

”Oh, I see.” Tang Huaijin looked at Xia Xinya with a strange expression. “You like Bai Yuerou?”

”No!” Xia Xinya denied loudly, as if her sore spot had been exposed, and a blush spread across her face. “We’re friends, and I don’t want a pervert like you around her.”

”Oh, my friend,” Tang Huaijin said with a meaningful smile.

Xia Xinya felt a chill run down her spine when she saw Tang Huaijin’s strange smile, but she still forced herself to remain calm and threatened, “In short, you should stay as far away from Bai Yuerou as possible.” After saying that, she turned to leave.

“Sure, no problem. I’m sure Bai Yuerou is also interested in what kind of books you like to read.” Tang Huaijin smiled.

Xia Xinya’s expression froze, her face turning somewhat ugly. She said, with a hint of bravado but underlying fear, “Are you threatening me?”

”So you hate being threatened too.” Tang Huaijin’s smile vanished as he looked at Xia Xinya and said indifferently, “I don’t want anything. I just want a peaceful high school life. I have no interest in your love affairs, and I won’t gossip about you. Only one person in this world has the right to order me around. So, keep your princess temper in check. Not everyone can tolerate you.”

After saying that, Tang Huaijin snorted coldly, ignored Xia Xinya’s reaction, and returned to the classroom.

Tang Huaijin didn’t want to argue with a spoiled little girl, but the subtle threat in her tone reminded him of something, and he felt a bit upset.

Back in the classroom, Bai Yuerou returned shortly after, followed by Xia Xinya, who had a very sour expression. When she saw Tang Huaijin, she glared at him hatefully.

During class, the teachers knew that Tang Huaijin was a transfer student, so they didn’t call on him to answer questions. The teachers at Rose Noble High School were all hired at high salaries, and their teaching level was indeed a level higher than that of Chengnan High School.

Tang Huaijin observed for a while and found that the students in the class were quite different from before. There was a serious polarization. Some students, like Bai Yuerou, listened attentively and studied hard, while others were just playing on their phones. Xia Xinya spent the whole morning playing on her phone while lying on the table, occasionally glancing at Tang Huaijin with a malicious look.

The Rose Academy promotes independent learning, and given the wealthy and privileged backgrounds of its students, the teachers don’t really supervise them much.

After the morning classes ended, Bai Yuerou came over to greet Tang Huaijin, “Shall we go eat together?”

Ignoring Xia Xinya’s resentful gaze as she followed behind him, Tang Huaijin smiled and agreed, then followed Bai Yuerou to the cafeteria.

The cafeteria is large and clean, with no unpleasant odors. The food is a bit pricey but quite delicious.

The group found a place to sit down and chatted while eating.

Bai Yuerou asked with some curiosity, “I heard that only the top three in your monthly exams can come. What was your ranking?”

”I’m sure I’ll be number one,” Tang Huaijin said with a smile.

”You’re just bragging.” Xia Xinya didn’t believe it at all and said with a look of disdain.

Tang Huaijin chuckled and said, “You’ll soon find out whether I’m bragging or not. I heard that those ranked higher can choose their seats first. I’ll have the consul move me next to Bai Yuerou.”

This was unacceptable to Xia Xinya. She put down her chopsticks, stood up, and glared at Tang Huaijin: “You’re dreaming!”

Bai Yuerou gave Tang Huaijin a reproachful look, then gently advised Xia Xinya, “Alright, alright, let’s eat.”

Xia Xinya then sat down to eat, her face looking very unpleasant. But then, as if she had remembered something, she gave Tang Huaijin a malicious smile.

Tang Huaijin didn’t take it to heart and continued eating his meal.

…

Inside the gymnasium, the students in the class were warming up with their PE teacher.

Tang Huaijin was filled with mixed emotions. Chengnan High School had stopped having physical education classes from the second year of high school.

After warming up, today’s PE class covered volleyball. The teacher explained the basic rules, had a few students demonstrate for a while, and then let everyone form teams to play volleyball freely.

Tang Huaijin was tall, so the sports committee member pulled him into the team.

Since the teams are randomly formed, the positions are not clearly defined.

The match started quickly. Everyone was just having fun, and Tang Huaijin didn’t intend to play seriously either, so he played around with them for a while.

The atmosphere on the court was relaxed, with everyone laughing and chatting.

”You guys played well, wanna join another one?” A tall man with a buzz cut walked over with a few people.

The sports committee member, Fang Ming, had a cheerful and outgoing personality. Hearing this, he chuckled and said, “Jiang Nan? You guys have a sports class too? Then let’s play together, but you have to let us win.”

”Haha, let’s chat.” The man named Jiang Nan laughed, looking quite friendly.

The students who weren’t very good at the game gave up their seats for others. Tang Huaijin also wanted to take a break and was about to leave when Jiang Nan suddenly glanced at him and said, “Dude, don’t go. It’ll be too boring otherwise. I think you played pretty well.”

Fang Ming also laughed and said, “Yes, Tang Huaijin, let’s fight for a while.”

Jiang Nan’s enthusiastic invitation made Tang Huaijin feel a little strange. He glanced at the two of them, smiled, and said, “Then let’s play a little longer.”

The two sides lined up, and it was clear from their height difference that the level of competition was significantly higher this time.

Sports Committee member Fang Ming was quite the player; he leaped high and executed a jump serve.

The opposing player lowered his body, received the ball steadily, and passed it to the setter. The setter lifted the ball into the air, and Jiang Nan took a quick run-up from behind, jumped up, and hit the ball in mid-air, which quickly swept over the net and smashed towards Tang Huaijin’s position.

A smooth and fluid combination of passes elicited a low gasp from the sidelines.

The game was in full swing, and the girls were also drawn over to watch from the sidelines.

Bai Yuerou and Xia Xinya were also nearby. Xia Xinya was looking at him with a gloating expression and whispering something to Bai Yuerou.

Being surrounded by so many girls, it would be incredibly embarrassing to either fail to catch the food or not try to catch it at all.

They’re here for him.

Tang Huaijin’s eyes turned cold as he stared at the incoming ball, lowered his waist slightly, and caught the powerful shot.

bump.

The volleyball was caught smoothly, and Fang Ming, who received the pass, responded with a spike.

The two sides traded blows, with the opponent’s defense performing well. Fang Ming was only able to score a point occasionally, but Jiang Nan’s spikes were all caught steadily by Tang Huaijin without exception. Even a layman could see that Tang Huaijin was carrying the team in this match.

Perhaps they got a little too excited, because the setter made a mistake and delivered a bad ball that flew to the side of the net. Fang Ming didn’t have time to catch it and could only watch helplessly as the ball slowly fell, about to become a point for the opponent.

Suddenly, a figure rushed up from behind, leaping high into the air, his body stretching perfectly in the air. At the highest point, he swung his arm and struck the volleyball hard. The volleyball was almost flattened by the force of the strike, and it shot out like a cannonball, flying towards Jiang Nan’s face.

It’s Tang Huaijin.

It is impolite not to reciprocate.

The fluid movements reveal the unique violent aesthetics of competitive sports.

Elegant yet fierce.

Someone cheered loudly, and the scene was a great sensation.

”Wow, that’s a really high jump!”

”His waist is almost higher than the net!”

”That smash was so smooth.”

Jiang Nan’s expression changed drastically. He usually only played friendly matches with friends who were not very skilled. He had never seen such a fierce smash before, and he had no confidence in receiving it.

But with so many people in front of him, it was impossible not to accept the offer, so he swallowed hard.

The flying volleyball, like a missile, hurtled towards his face with incredible speed and precision. In the final fraction of a second, Jiang Nan instinctively raised his arm to shield his face.

The volleyball hit Jiang Nan’s arm with undiminished force and bounced in the opposite direction.

Surrounded by onlookers, the volleyball just happened to hit Xia Xinya, and it looked like it was about to hit her in the face.

Bai Yuerou had just returned from buying water and was looking over here with a horrified expression.

Jiang Nan and Fang Ming’s expressions also changed drastically; that was Xia Xiaomo Nu (Little Witch Xia)…

The ball was moving so fast that Xia Xinya didn’t even have time to react and could only watch helplessly as it grew larger in front of her.

”It’s over…” This thought arose in everyone’s minds.

A dull thud was the sound of the volleyball making contact with a body.

Tap tap tap… The volleyball lands on the floor.

Xia Xinya’s face turned pale with fright. She slowly opened her tightly closed eyes, still filled with terror, and looked at the frowning boy in front of her.

Ouch, that volleyball really hurts when it hits you, Tang Huaijin’s face twitched in pain.

Fortunately, the system reward of physical enhancement allowed him to rush over at the last moment and block the ball with his arm.

”Don’t worry, it didn’t hit you.” He glanced at Xia Xinya, whose face was pale, and said irritably.

”You…” Xia Xinya was somewhat conflicted after being saved by him. She hesitated for a moment, and was about to thank him when he choked her, and her face turned ugly.

”Are you alright, Xiaoya?” Bai Yuerou was also terrified and quickly walked over to hold Xia Xinya’s hand to comfort her.

It almost caused an accident, and everyone lost interest in playing ball. Jiang Nan and Fang Ming ran over to check on the situation and breathed a sigh of relief after finding that there was no serious injury. They thanked Tang Huaijin repeatedly.

Seeing that Xia Xinya wasn’t paying attention, Jiang Nan secretly called Tang Huaijin aside.

”I’m sorry, Sister Xia told me to do it.” He apologized to Tang Huaijin, a hint of helplessness on his face.

Tang Huaijin had no interest in arguing with him. He hadn’t suffered any loss, and on the contrary, he had gained a lot of attention.

He just sneered when he heard this. “I guessed it. Who else would be so bored as to do this?” He didn’t know anyone here, and with his brain, the only one who could do it was Xia Xinya.

Tang Huaijin had already figured it out while she was on the court, but she still ran over to block the ball for her. She should have said a few more words to her.

Jiang Nan hesitated for a moment before saying, “I don’t know how you offended her, brother, you should just back down.”

Tang Huaijin was also a little curious and asked, “Why are you all so afraid of her? Is she that powerful?”

Jiang Nan gave a wry smile, pointed upwards, and said, “It’s mainly Xia Jie’s family. If we have a falling out with her, her family will make us apologize by twisting our ears. Who can afford to lose face like that?”

Tang Huaijin chuckled, nodded noncommittally, and said nothing.
